Sex Pistol's, Johnny Rotten, shops Lansky at the Peabody.  He recalls his time with the Sex Pistols visiting Memphis in this article in The Commercial Appeal: "Lydon does reflect fondly on Memphis, a city he visited for the first time with the group during their infamous 1978 U.S. tour. "I love Memphis. I'm in and out of Memphis all the time. I became almost a resident at The Peabody hotel, because I love it so much," he says. "And then you've got Lansky's, Elvis' tailor. I've always been madly, wildly attracted to Elvis Presley's style. He's one of the classiest dressers I've ever known. … This is a long time before the capes and the sequins, of course."
