Elvis’ ex Linda Thompson pays tribute to King as she returns to Graceland | Music | Entertainment
Elvis Presley, the legendary rock ‘n’ roll icon, had a significant relationship with Linda Thompson, a Miss Tennessee model, after his split from his wife Priscilla. At the age of 37, Elvis began dating the 22-year-old model in 1972, and they lived together at Graceland until their amicable separation four and a half years later.
As we approach the 46th anniversary of Elvis’s premature death, Linda Thompson has received an official invitation from Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises to participate in Elvis Week for the first time. The annual festivities celebrating the life and career of the King of Rock have already commenced at the Memphis mansion, with fans worldwide having the opportunity to attend virtually through live stream.
Before her return to Graceland, Linda shared a special tribute to Elvis on her Instagram, sharing a clip from a previous visit in the mid-2000s.
Linda, now 73 years old, expressed on Instagram, “Once again, I am heading back to Memphis to honor the iconic king of rock ‘n’ roll, the one and only true original, Elvis Presley. It has now been 46 years since the untimely passing of this legendary performer. Thanks to his fiercely loyal and dedicated fans, Elvis’s memory and legacy remain vibrant and alive!
“I want to extend my gratitude to Graceland and EPE for inviting me to Elvis Week and allowing me to fully participate in this special occasion! The clip features Nancy Rooks, who faithfully sent me Christmas cards every year until her passing. We also had frequent phone conversations, and I will always cherish her friendship over the years.
“Also featured in the clip is Bernard Lansky, the fashion innovator who dressed Elvis. May the understanding that love never dies bring comfort to those who have lost loved ones. Love is the only thing we can truly carry with us, and it is the most valuable thing we leave behind. Let’s love one another… that’s the true path to peace…”
During Elvis Week 2023, Linda will be offering sold-out in-person tours of the Graceland mansion for $1000. Additionally, she will be interviewed in front of fans as part of the Elvis In Conversation segment.
