Elvis may have permanently left the building 20 years ago, but at the opening of the first restaurant bearing his name, his spirit was alive and rockin'.

Built at the site of the former Lansky Brothers clothing store in Memphis (where the King got many of his trademark suits), Elvis Preley's Memphis (901.527.6900) allows fans to indulge in Presley-ness: Shoot pool using the very table Elvis and the Beatles once played on, take in some R&B or gospel music at the 330-seat concert hall, or munch on an Elvis favorite - a fried peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich ($4.95).

As Priscilla Presley, who oversaw the design of the restaurant and plans to open eight more, says, "If Elvis were here, he'd never leave this place." Lisa Marie Presley joined her mom (below-left) for the opening of the restaurant. Five hundred VIP guests (many of whom knew the King) turned out for the evening, which in cluded a performance by Jewel (below-right).
