SPARKLE & TWANG
The Tennessee State Museum hosted its 10th annual Sparkle & Twang fall fundraiser Nov. 13, celebrating the 2015 inductees of the Costume & Textile Institute, as well as the newest members of the museum's Young Professionals Council(YPC).
Co-chairs Marcia Masulla and Austin Penningtongathered a fun and fashionable crowd at the Lexus of Nashville dealership, which featured a silent auction with items from Tennessee merchants, cocktails courtesy of Patron Spirits Co., a marshmallow and hot chocolate bar from Bang Candy Company and live entertainment provided by Tanya Montana Coe and DJ Gerard.
Executive director Lois Riggins-Ezzell presented this year's inductees: Libby Callaway, Andra Eggleston, Barry Wishnow, Maria Silver and Diana Warner, and the institute's first posthumous induction of Bernard J. Lansky of the Lanksy Bros.The Costume & Textile Institute honors Tennessee-based designers, while allowing the museum to acquire and properly preserve collections of fashion with significance to our state's rich heritage.
YPC president Reen Locker Baskin and volunteer director Gloria Houghlandintroduced Janie Berry, Ryan Locker, Sarah Blood and Katie Lillard as the group's newest members. The council supports the museum with fundraising initiatives and programs to attract a younger generation of patrons.
