THE RENDEZVOUS HAS A NEW CONDIMENT — AND IT'S NOT BARBECUE SAUCE
Charlie Vergos Rendezvous has a new condiment — and it’s not a barbecue sauce or dry rub.
“We partnered with a company in Dyersburg to create a sweet mustard with the Rendezvous’ tang,” said Anna Vergos Blair of Rendezvous.
Tigertail Rendezvous Sweet Glazed Mustard is described as “a flavorful blend of Tigertail Creamy Yellow Mustard and Rendezvous Famous Seasoning.”
The Tigertail line of mustards and fusion sauces is developed and crafted in West Tennessee. It’s made in Dyersburg by Develey, a German mustard and sauce company based there.
Tigertail Rendezvous Sweet Glazed Mustard is now on every table at the restaurant. Blair said guests are primarily using the new mustard as a dipping sauce for the sausage and cheese plate as well as a condiment on ham sandwiches.
“Customers who have taken it home tell us it's good on things like grilled chicken,” she said.
Blair said the restaurant tested the mustard at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational golf tournament this past summer before finalizing the product.
The new mustard contains no high fructose corn syrup or artificial dyes, it's gluten free and it's vegetarian.
A 12-ounce bottle is available at Charlie Vergos Rendezvous restaurant for $3.95 per bottle. It is also available on the restaurant’s online store at hogsfly.com and at Lansky Bros. in The Peabody.
