Lansky Bros.: Seven Decades of Fashion, History, and Elvis Presley
Lansky Bros., the iconic store with its roots on famous Beale Street in Downtown Memphis, proudly announces the release of their first book, “Lansky Brothers: Clothier to the King.” Customers and fans worldwide have long asked the Lansky family for vintage pictures and detailed stories, now shared in this new publication.
A Legacy Spanning Nearly 70 Years The book chronicles nearly seventy years of Lansky Bros.’ history in Downtown Memphis, told through three generations. It begins with brothers Bernard and Guy purchasing a humble second-hand store on the corner of Beale and Second Street, tracing the store’s evolution through decades and numerous fashion cycles. The Clothier to the King and Elvis Presley The Lansky family shares an in-depth look at how they became the “Clothier to the King,” detailing their most famous customer, Elvis Presley. Featuring never-before-seen photographs of Elvis inside the Lansky store, the book highlights how Lansky Bros. defined the pink and black colors of the 1950s and influenced fashion trends over the decades. Lansky Bros. Today Today, Lansky Bros. can be found in the lobby of the famous Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis.
**Books will be autographed by Bernard's son, Hal Lansky (2nd Generation).
